Collecting your new passport?
Make an appointment so we know you are coming.
Passports are printed in Australia. You should allow minimum from 6 to 10 weeks processing time from payment, so planning well ahead is important.
Priority passport services are not available in Egypt.
Please make sure to book an appointment for each passport application lodged (e.g family of four members are required to book four appointments)
How to apply for an Australian Passport in Egypt?
Adult Passport Renewals
You must complete your renewal application form online

You must be 18 years and over and you will need a passport that:
-
was issued when you were aged 16 or older
-
was issued on or after 1 January 2006
-
had, when it was issued, at least two years’ validity
-
has your current name, date of birth, place of birth and gender, and
-
has not been reported lost, stolen, or cancelled.

First Adult Passport

Urgent Travel

Remember that some countries may refuse entry to persons with less than six months validity on their passports beyond the period of intended stay. It is your responsibility to ensure you have sufficient validity on your passport for your travel.
You are strongly advised NOT to make any firm plans or pay for tickets until you have received your new passport.
Applying for your passport by mail/courier:
Applicable only for adult passports renewals with form (PC7) and child passport renewal under the age of 16 with form (PC8).

Please note that you are not required to mail the previous passport of the applicant, nor certified copies of their birth and citizenship certificate if they were provided with the last application.

Important notice: If you do not know an Australian guarantor to support your passport application (where applicable), please refer to this list of Acceptable non-Australian guarantor occupation groups.
The passport processing office is in Australia may request additional documents after the application has been assessed by them. We will contact you if any additional documentation is required.
Passports Fees
Period beginning: 01 July 2024
The Australian Embassy may only accept cash payments in EGP. The exact amount will be determined according to the exchange rate applicable at the time of lodging the passport application.
Bank card payments may only be made in Australian Dollars (AUD).
Note: Cards issued outside of Australia, your bank may charge international transaction or currency conversion fees. Check with your bank if you have questions regarding these fees.

Note: The fees above apply and are payable under the provisions of the Australian Passports (Application Fees) Act 2005 and the Australian Passports Determination 2005.
In response to public health concerns, changes have been made to our services. These changes are intended to protect you (our clients), our staff and the wider community.
Please read the following information/general instructions concerning booked appointments and accessing the Embassy:

Note that the Embassy may cease public appointments at short notice in light of measures being applied by this office or the Egyptian authorities in response to COVID-19 or other public health concerns.

Note that the Embassy may need to reschedule your appointment at short notice to accommodate other urgent requests or due to staff availability. Please be respectful to staff if you are contacted in this regard.

Arrive at the time of your appointment. You may not be permitted to enter the building before or after your scheduled time.

The Embassy will only admit the clients applying for their passports or requesting a notarial service. Additional visitors (other family members or friends) will not be admitted. This is for security reasons and also to prevent visitors crowding the Embassy’s waiting area. If there is a genuine reason to accompany another person(s), please advise the Consular Section by email prior to the date of your appointment with the reason and provide the other persons personal details (full name and ID card/passport’s details). Avoid bringing children to the appointments (except passport applicants over the age of 16 years).
